in Who's Attending?

roodprofileWho are you and what do you do?
Jason Rood. I’m a small business owner based in the Chicagoland area supplying IT support for residential and commercial clients. Think Geek Squad without the corporate run-around or prices. When the technical aspects of life get to be too much, I reset by enjoying the outdoors, hiking, exploring, camping, and of course photography.

Why are you attending PhotoCampMilwaukee?
I’d like to fill in the gaping wounds in my knowledge of photography; in both the technical and creative aspects. Perhaps add a few new tools to the Swedish army issue carryall sack turned camera bag.

What’s in your camera bag?
Ah, the Swedish army issue carryall sack? Let’s see…. We have a Canon Rebel XT digital SLR, standard lens sans cap, extra battery, and a photo idea index.

If you were to lead a session, what would it be about?
At this point in my journey through photography, my session would probably end up trailing off on an incoherent tangent. Though I’ve done a lot of personal research about the ins and outs, do’s and don’ts on the topic, lately I’ve felt the need for more sources than just the web to learn from. I’m looking for PhotoCamp Milwaukee to be one of those sources :-)

If you were to attend your dream session, what would it be about?
Hands down it would be a DIY session on cheap alternatives to expensive camera options. Anything on DIY lens’, filters, even if it’s just a tip like steadying the shot by standing on a washer attached to the camera by a string…. I’d like to know about it.

Tell us one random fact about yourself.
I tend to like dragons.
