Gabe WollenburgWho are you and what do you do?
I am a Milwaukee-based technology enthusiast, great American novelist, passionate demagogue, and the one true No. 1 Dad. I work for a place and do that thing. I am also a recovering journalist. Wow!

Why are you attending PhotoCampMilwaukee?
I love all things camp. Most of my Online friends are made through Flickr. I have always loved photography. But, most importantly, last month, I was forced to start shooting on manual and it changed everything. everything.

What’s in your camera bag?
Technically, It’s my camera bag belongs to my employer. When It’s not checked out my my co-workers, I shoot with a Canon 30D. I like it. It’s a Cannon 30D. We’ve invested quite a bit in wacky zoom lenses and a fairly nice integrated flash. I’ll admit, I’m not much of a gearhead. I just like shooting photos. I have destroyed more than my share of fairly expensive point-and-shoots.

If you were to lead a session, what would it be about?
I’d love to lead a few sessions:
1. Quantity over Quality: Shooting More so that you fail less.
2. That Icon means what??!? A huresitic evaluation of the FAIL! of camera interfaces
3. The Shiniest Turd: great Photojournalism in uninspired settings with sub-par gear.

If you were to attend your dream session, what would it be about?
I really want to know more about studio portraiture. Particularly valuable to me would be techniques for shooting great boring corporate headshots.

Tell us one random fact about yourself.
I’m totally not full of crap when I call myself an award-winning writer.
