Who are you and what do you do?
I am a Milwaukee-based technology enthusiast, great American novelist, passionate demagogue, and the one true No. 1 Dad. I work for a place and do that thing. I am also a recovering journalist. Wow!
Why are you attending PhotoCampMilwaukee?
I love all things camp. Most of my Online friends are made through Flickr. I have always loved photography. But, most importantly, last month, I was forced to start shooting on manual and it changed everything. everything.
What’s in your camera bag?
Technically, It’s my camera bag belongs to my employer. When It’s not checked out my my co-workers, I shoot with a Canon 30D. I like it. It’s a Cannon 30D. We’ve invested quite a bit in wacky zoom lenses and a fairly nice integrated flash. I’ll admit, I’m not much of a gearhead. I just like shooting photos. I have destroyed more than my share of fairly expensive point-and-shoots.
If you were to lead a session, what would it be about?
I’d love to lead a few sessions:
1. Quantity over Quality: Shooting More so that you fail less.
2. That Icon means what??!? A huresitic evaluation of the FAIL! of camera interfaces
3. The Shiniest Turd: great Photojournalism in uninspired settings with sub-par gear.
If you were to attend your dream session, what would it be about?
I really want to know more about studio portraiture. Particularly valuable to me would be techniques for shooting great boring corporate headshots.
Tell us one random fact about yourself.
I’m totally not full of crap when I call myself an award-winning writer.

Who are you and what do you do?
Andrea Franklin, Foodservice Director for the Hartland-Lakeside School District and Registered Dietitian.
Why are you attending PhotoCampMilwaukee?
I’m pretty “old school.” I went from an SLR manual focus camera to a Kodak point and shoot digital and just purchased a Nikon D90 and want to get tips from others on using some of the cool options available on this camera.
What’s in your camera bag?
My new Nikon D-90 with a 28mm lens, a 35-80mm lens and an 80-200 lens, my old manual film cameras (Minolta and Nikon) along w/some old lenses, a bunch of filters and film – it’s been a while since I’ve used my camera bag!
If you were to lead a session, what would it be about?
Eating healthy…oh, sorry, wrong subject. Taking nature shots.
If you were to attend your dream session, what would it be about?
Photoshop for beginners.
Tell us one random fact about yourself.
I winter camped (in the snow) once in March in Rocky Mountain Nat’l Park…and loved it!

Tell us one random fact about yourself.
64 ISO slide film is still the greatest thing ever invented. I mean slides, come on.

Who are you and what do you do?
Paul Stillmank. I’m the VP of Global Solutions at Manpower in Milwaukee. I am a cosmically unbalanced, always late, manic dreamer with a thousand interests who splinters his time toward too many priorities – I need to tighten down my focus and work toward fewer, richer experiences. I am into social media, “web 2.0″ and just launched Manpower’s first foray into social media at MyPath.com (beta). Two of my great passions in life are fly fishing and photography. Fly fishing has lead me to some remarkably beautiful places. Inspiration took over from there. I had to bring these places home with me, through pictures.
Why are you attending PhotoCampMilwaukee?
To meet other photographers, share experiences and learn something from others – typically better than book learning!
What’s in your camera bag?
Canon 20D and the newer 50D.
Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS
Canon EF 20-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Canon EF-s 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Canon EF 50mm f/1.4
Canon EF extender 1.4x
5 BP511-A Batteries
Polarizer filters
Remote Switch
Misc memory cards, etc.
If you were to lead a session, what would it be about?
Yellowstone photography hotspots; digiscoping is also a possibility.
If you were to attend your dream session, what would it be about?
Macro photography as I am starting to photograph flies that I have tied for fly-fishing. Also interested in Photographers Market and how to sell photos.
Tell us one random fact about yourself.
I love going to Yellowstone and hiking into the back-country there. I try to make it our there about 3 to 4 times a year. I start in February when I can don my snow-shoes and hike around spotting and watching wolves. Then I head out again at the end of May to check in on the grizzly bears. In 2006, we spotted 13 grizzlies at this time of year. I usually return there once in the summer and once in the fall to fly-fish. My camera is always in tow with me on these excursions and I have gotten some pretty amazing pictures over the years.

Who are you and what do you do?
Jason Samsa. I make photographs of people. Since 2007, I’ve been pursuing wedding commissions. Wedding photography is challenging on many levels: creative, technical, physical and business. I love the challenge. The mix of creative and technical disciplines required in photography has always been a great fit for me.
Why are you attending PhotoCampMilwaukee?
BarCampMilwaukee was a blast. I love meeting people who are enthusiastic and passionate. It’s hard to pass up a day of learning and sharing, especially when the subject is photography.
What’s in your camera bag?
I use Nikon Digital SLRs, lenses and speedlights.
If you were to lead a session, what would it be about?
Post-process techniques in Photoshop, perhaps a focus on Curves and HSL.
If you were to attend your dream session, what would it be about?
I’d be a fly on the wall during an Annie Leibovitz shoot.
Tell us one random fact about yourself.
My favorite programming language is Python.

Who are you and what do you do?
Cory Zimmermann. Creative Director/Principal of Z2 Marketing. I do: branding through photo, video, design, audio and web.
Why are you attending PhotoCampMilwaukee?
Because Pete tricked me into it.
Just kidding… I love learning many different perspectives of photography. To share and see how other photographers see their work. It’s not always about the technical aspect.
What’s in your camera bag?
Nikon D300, and good glass.
If you were to lead a session, what would it be about?
I’d talk about how to see things from different perspectives. Just because you have the best camera and glass doesn’t mean you’re a good photographer. Believe in your eye. I might also touch on how to make a fine artist style into commercial paying work.
If you were to attend your dream session, what would it be about?
A session from a photographer that has an amazing eye and to hear how he/she approaches their work, but one that doesn’t think they are the greatest photographer of all time.
Tell us one random fact about yourself.
I’m training for a marathon. Again.

Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Scott Feldstein. My day job is in “e-learning”; I run the web system that puts all of Marquette University’s courses online. In addition to this nerdery, I also teach at the university: various multimedia and technology subjects, especially as they pertain to a teaching and learning environment. For the past year or two I’ve also been running a part-time wedding photography business. I’m a blogger from way back. I live in Waukesha with my wife and children.
Why are you attending PhotoCampMilwaukee?
I love to teach, I love to learn—and I love photography. How could I not attend?
What’s in your camera bag?
Mostly it’s a Nikon D300, a Sigma 18-50 f/2.8, a Nikkor 85 f/1.8, an SB-600 flash, and a Lightsphere diffuser.
If you were to lead a session, what would it be about?
I’d like to do a beginner’s session geared toward people who have stepped up to digital SLR cameras, but who find themselves unsure about using modes other than Auto. (Like this: Master Your DSLR Camera, Part 1: Program Mode)
If you were to attend your dream session, what would it be about?
It would be called “How to do amazingly cool and beautiful things using only one off-camera flash.”
Tell us one random fact about yourself.
I used to be a musician.
